Koushaku Chouno is a significant antagonist in the Busou Renkin series. He is introduced early in the story and serves as the primary villain opposing Kazuki Muto and Tokiko Tsumura until the L.X.E. is introduced.

He has a sinister and sickly appearance, described as having "eyes like rotten river sewage." Koushaku desires eternal life, regardless of the methods required to achieve it. His intense longing for immortality is driven by a mysterious illness that severely weakens his body.
