The second Rozen Maiden doll, Kanaria, is as adorable as she is eccentric. She refers to herself in the third person and often talks about taking her sisters' Rosa Mysticae, though she repeatedly fails in these attempts. She fancies herself a stealthy prowler and enjoys watching her sisters through binoculars. Her bright, somewhat arrogant disposition makes her a central figure in many comedic episodes. Despite this, she is a competent opponent, attacking with a deceptively cute violin that destroys through its sound. Her personality complements Hinaichigo's, leading them to become good friends and rivals.
Kanaria has the unusual habit of ending her sentences with "kashira" ("I wonder?" or "maybe?"), similar to Hinaichigo's use of "na no" ("Because"). Her favorite food is tamagoyaki, a Japanese thick omelet, which hungry birds often snatch away before she can enjoy it. Introduced in the second season, she makes a brief appearance in Rozen Maiden: Ouverture, humorously attempting to infiltrate Jun's home to steal her sisters' Rosa Mysticae.
Her artificial spirit, Pizzicato, is named after the technique of plucking strings on orchestral instruments, which she uses for counterattacks. Her medium is Mitsu. Kanaria's name translates to "canary" in English.
