Kamado Ueshita is a large, unusually shaped woman who runs an orphanage called "Mothers Home". Kamado is the eighth diary owner. Her diary operates as a website where she can lease blog space to others and automatically elevate users' ranks based on their posting frequency. For example, in chapter twenty-five, Ouji Kousaka submits enough entries to be promoted from "commoner" to "apprentice diary holder". This rank seems to grant users abilities similar to those of the original diary holders, without the fatal consequence if their diary is destroyed. However, the apparent drawback is that apprentices must stay connected to the server; otherwise, they lose access to their diaries. Her orphanage is slated for demolition as part of the Eleventh's plan. The children under her care note that Kamado lacks the drive to become God. Instead, it is her "children" who desire her ascension to prevent her death. Unfortunately, all of her "children," each possessing an apprentice diary, are killed by Yuno during a failed attempt to assassinate the 11th. Later, she is recruited by the 11th with the intention of combining her Diary with Holon III, a massive computer system for Sakurami, to transform the entire city into Apprentice Diary Holders.
