Juvia was one-fourth of the elite Element 4 group within Phantom Lord. Sent by guild master Jose alongside Sol, her mission was to capture Lucy and bring her back safely. Her magic revolves around water, enabling her to control rain and vast bodies of water. Additionally, her body is composed of water, allowing her to reform after attacks. Known as Juvia of the Sea, her nickname aligns with her water-controlling abilities. When enraged, she can manipulate hot water as well. Juvia often speaks in the third person.
She has developed a profound affection for Gray and mistakenly considers Lucy a rival in love. After being defeated by Gray, the rain above her finally ceased, which she found beautiful. Following the battle, her infatuation with Gray deepened, leading her to secretly follow him when unsure how to approach him directly. During the Tower of Heaven arc, she tells Gray that she's now an independent mage again, though he suspects she's eyeing Fairy Tail. She's willing to do anything for Gray. Whenever Juvia feels upset, rain surrounds her.
She is the only member of the Element 4 shown after the Phantom Guild arc. The Spanish word "lluvia," pronounced similarly to her name, means rain.
