Jean Pierre Polnareff is the penultimate member to join the Crusaders, having joined after his defeat at the hands of Muhammad Avdol.
Polnareff embodies the classic "good-hearted bumbler." He's heroic and fiercely protective of those he cares for but lacks intelligence (though he has demonstrated considerable cunning and strategy throughout the series). His impulsiveness, loudness, and tendency to act without thinking have often landed him in trouble. However, his dedication to doing good and being a reliable friend cannot be questioned. He also considers himself quite the ladies' man, though his self-perception likely exceeds reality.
Among all the characters in the series, Polnareff is the most open with his emotions, bringing much-needed humor and warmth to an otherwise cold team, especially considering the chilly demeanors of Kakyouin and Joutarou. While he may sometimes serve as comic relief, his companions value his kind nature and trust him to aid them in tough battles.
He embarked on a journey with Joutarou Kuujou and Joseph Joestar to avenge his sister, who was raped and murdered by J. Geil. His Stand is known as Silver Chariot.
Polnareff survived this adventure and resurfaced 12 years later to assist Giorno Giovanna's group in Golden Wind. During this time, his body perished in a fight against Diavolo, leaving his soul to reside within the body of a tortoise.
