Anubis is a Stand without a user, discovered by Dio in a dark museum 500 years after its creator and original user had passed away. After being defeated by Dio using The World, Anubis pledged its loyalty to him.
Anubis first appears when it is stumbled upon by a farmer named Chaka, who becomes intrigued and draws the sword out of curiosity. This act leads to his possession by Anubis. The possessed Chaka then proceeds to attack and kill his companions before challenging Polnareff. Despite some difficulty, Polnareff eventually defeats Chaka and takes the sheathed blade with him.
Later on, a barber named Khan picks up the sword and also falls under Anubis' control. However, he too is defeated by Jotaro, and the sword is shattered by Star Platinum. Subsequently, Polnareff himself succumbs to Anubis’ influence but manages to be overpowered by Jotaro after a tough battle.
In an unexpected turn, a child finds the sword but trips over Iggy, causing the weapon to fall onto a cow. The startled cow rushes into the sea, ultimately dropping the blade into the water. In a last-ditch effort, Anubis tries to call out to nearby fish and crabs for help, but receives no response. Presumably, the sword rusts away, leading to the erasure of Anubis from existence.
