Jackal is an Etherious and a member of the Nine Demon Gates from the dark guild Tartaros. In the manga, Jackal has brown hair and black eyes, while in the anime, he possesses yellow eyes. He is depicted as a sadistic and cruel character who derives pleasure from human suffering.
Jackal first makes his appearance as the one responsible for the massacre of the entire Magic Council, sparing only Doranbolt. When Fairy Tail discovers that Tartaros is targeting former council members, Jackal encounters Natsu Dragneel, leading to a fierce battle between them. During this confrontation, Jackal reveals that members of Tartaros do not use magic but instead wield curses. His specific curse, known as the Bomb Curse, enables him to cause explosions upon contact or when objects are trapped within his markers.
Ultimately, Jackal's reign of terror comes to an end when Lucy defeats him using the spell Urano Metria.
