Heymans Breda is among Roy Mustang's most trusted subordinates, recruited for his exceptional intelligence, evident from his prowess in chess and other strategic games. Despite his sharp mind, he harbors an irrational fear of dogs. Breda is often assigned by Mustang to missions that require him to travel abroad, demonstrating his commitment by using up all his days off for these tasks. When Mustang's group is disbanded by the homunculi, Breda is transferred to Western Headquarters. In the manga, he ultimately leaves the military to assist Mustang in his quest to overthrow King Bradley.
