One of the Trinity of Bal Masqué, known as "The Priestess." Members of Bal Masqué call her "Our Great Priestess," while Margery Daw refers to her as "Princess of Stars." Sydonay cares deeply for her, much to her chagrin, as he frequently calls her "My Hecate." Bel Peol always speaks of turning her into an "eternal existence." During the creation of the Great Binding Chain in ancient times, she was known as "Nüwa."
Hecate is a melancholic, quiet, and somewhat emotionless character who has developed a habit of praying despite having no one to pray to. Bel Peol finds this peculiar, and Hecate often expresses that she feels "empty."
In the light novels, it's implied that Hecate prays to Bal Masqué's god, the Snake of the Festival. Her emptiness stems from her lack of self-awareness.
Her role is crucial regarding Bal Masqué's plans for the Reiji Maigo since she can harness its power and distribute it throughout Seireiden.
Contrary to her anime counterpart, the light novels portray Hecate as a cold and feared leader, even instilling fear within all of Bal Masqué. She enjoys hiking up mountain peaks but despises littering climbers, whom she slaughters on sight.
According to Sydonay, Hecate exists to be sacrificed in summoning the Snake of the Festival (which proves true as she becomes the sacrifice for creating Xanadu). She will eventually be reborn by gathering the wishes of Crimson Denizens during his slumber, awaiting his next summoning. She appears when the Crimson Denizens' wishes are strong enough to summon their God, signaling his awakening.
Hecate encounters Sydonay in a dreamlike afterlife, surprised by his death. He tells her he wanted to die. They hold hands and walk towards a white light, hoping for the day the Trinity and their leader reunite.
