The central figure of the series, she shares a close bond with her elder brother, Shinogu. Initially, she is portrayed as a sophomore at Takazono High School, a private institution. Akane's anxiety about potential pregnancy compels Hatsumi to buy a pregnancy test for her. Unfortunately, Ryoki stumbles upon her with the test, and in return for keeping this discovery confidential, Hatsumi finds herself coerced into becoming Ryoki's personal servant. She possesses an incredibly trusting nature, believing almost anything told to her. When Azusa breaks up with her early on, she struggles significantly to move past the relationship. However, as time progresses, she gradually begins to open her heart to love once more.
