His name, Aldebaran, was chosen for the Taurus Gold Saints because it represents the brightest star in the Taurus constellation; however, his true name is Hasgard. He is depicted as a noble and revered master who values his friends and students, always wearing a smile. He became the teacher of Teneo, Salo, and Celintha after saving their lives, and they chose him as their mentor.
Aldebaran is renowned as the Gold Saint with the swiftest attack. His mastery of the Iai Position allows him to keep his arms crossed during an assault. This technique enables him to execute the Great Horn, a rapid move where he generates a powerful blast using his palms. His ultimate attack, Titan's Nova, is an even more potent version of the Great Horn, performed with only one arm and typically used on the ground to obliterate the surrounding area. The Iai Position is disrupted when Aldebaran performs this move.
During a battle, Hasgard's old wounds from his fight against Kagaho reopen, yet he manages to defeat Wimber upon learning of their plan to kill Tenma. Subsequently, Cube's Death Messenger stops his heart. In this moment, he experiences a dream where Sisyphus urges him to prevail, reminding him of Athena's pain whenever one of her Saints dies. Despite his heart having stopped, Aldebaran executes Titan's Nova and kills Cube. After his death, his body is attacked by a Frog Zelos but is defended by Bennu Kagaho, who slays the attacker.
