Age: 270 Altar Hakurei is a character introduced in Lost Canvas, serving as the Elder of Jamir. He is the master of Shion, Yuzuriha, Tokusa, and Atla, and the elder brother of Sage. Hakurei and his brother survived the previous Holy War. Originally intended to occupy the Pope's seat, Hakurei instead gave it to his brother and moved to Jamir. He once prevented his apprentice Shion from defecting from Athena's ranks to join Hades. Following his brother's demise, Hakurei took over as Pope, maintaining the illusion that Sage was still alive to preserve the morale of the Saints. To break the seal that reduced the Saints' power to 10%, Hakurei decided to venture into Hades' territory alone, despite Shion's objections. Hakurei easily defeated the foot soldiers and entered Hades' church, where he confronted Hypnos. Hypnos brought forward the defeated disciples of Hakurei, including Shion and Yuzuriha. Using the ultimate attack Praesepe Returning Spirits Wave, Hakurei summoned the souls of fallen Saints from the previous Holy War, including Cancer Sage's soul. Hakurei used their power to form a massive energy ball, distracting Hypnos. While Hypnos was nullifying the energy ball, Hakurei unleashed his living soul to seal the defenseless Hypnos. However, before Hakurei could break the seal using the blessed sword, Hades appeared and killed him.
