Manga
Ryuubi is a clumsy, scatterbrained book lover with no apparent combat abilities. She cannot swim and seems unaware of her own potential. In the English adaptation, she exhibits an irrational fear of homosexuals and questions her own sexuality, believing that Kanu and Chouhui are lesbians attracted to her. These traits are not present in the original Japanese version. Despite her shyness and carefree nature, Ryuubi is destined to become a great leader. She is deeply devoted to her friends, especially Chouhi. Her dragon, known as the most destructive, emits chaotic energy and once nearly caused her to harm herself before being restrained by Ryomou, Chouhi, and Kanu. Occasionally, when her friends are injured in battle, her dragon stirs, causing violent outbursts.
Anime
In the anime, the timeline of her first possession by her dragon differs from the manga. In the manga, it occurred three years prior to the story’s beginning, while in the anime, it happens during the second series. Determined to rescue Kanu after her surrender to Sousou, Ryuubi gradually gains control over her dragon's powers. Realizing that her school must fight Nanyo and Kyosho to end the conflict, she becomes more capable in battle despite being targeted by many Toushi. Kanu’s return boosts her confidence further. Though nearly strangled to death by Sousou, she is saved by Hakufu’s timely intervention. Together, Ryuubi and Hakufu defeat Sousou, securing victory for Seito and Nanyo. Now back to her usual self, she enjoys reading books again.
