Ikusabe's power stems from his Buso Renkin, the Jumonji spear Gekisen, which has a recovery ability. He also has a unique habit of consuming the remains of the Homunculus he defeats, which boosts his power, stamina, and the number of times he can use his recovery ability. Unlike Negoro, Ikusabe values the battle process over victory itself. He abandoned his mission to kill Kazuki after being defeated by Papillon. In the anime, it is not depicted that he eats Homunculus, nor does he send Papillon to Kazuki and Gōta. Instead, he collapses after being defeated by Papillon.
