While details about Gauron remain scarce, he stands as Sousuke's most formidable adversary throughout the TV series. Backed by a secretive organization, Gauron is a top-tier terrorist whose supporters are even more enigmatic and resourceful than the infamous Soviet KGB. Thought to be of Japanese or at least Asian descent, Gauron shares a violent past with Sousuke. He once held the rank of captain in MITHRIL but departed before the main characters joined. During Sousuke's time with Afghan guerrillas, he and Major Kalinin, then-commander of Soviet Spetsnaz, ambushed Gauron, leaving a prominent scar on his forehead. This is just one of many wounds Sousuke inflicts upon this ruthless killer over the course of their battles.
