Capricorn El Cid is the Capricorn Gold Saint in Lost Canvas. El Cid comes across as a quiet and introspective character, almost like a silent assassin. He joins Manigoldo on a mission in Hades' Forest, where he encounters and eliminates six Specters using his arm-sword technique. During this encounter, El Cid faces one of the gods of Dream, Icelos. When Icelos warps space, El Cid's attack ends up cutting his own arm. Despite this setback, El Cid continues to fight, but is eventually cast down a cliff by Icelos and last seen unconscious.
Later, El Cid reappears, cutting through dimensions to enter the dream world. Here, he challenges and defeats Phantasos, slicing him in half. He then faces Icelos again. Using his own blood to mark warped spaces, El Cid can predict Icelos' movements and ultimately decapitates him.
El Cid's journey continues as he aims to save Sisyphos from the dream world. Along the way, he rescues Pegasus Tenma from Morphia's collapse. As they attempt to reach Sisyphos' dreams, Oneiros, the god of Dreams, appears and summons his three deceased brothers to form a monstrous creature. On the brink of destruction, Athena intervenes with her staff representing the goddess Nike, saving El Cid and Tenma. The Saints then work together to confront the monstrous god. El Cid uses his technique to cut through dimensions, opening a hole in the Dream World. He then employs Jumping Stone, a powerful blow from his legs that utilizes the opponent's momentum against them, sending the god to the real world through the hole. Finally, El Cid slices the Sagittarius golden arrow into four pieces to strike Oneiros, using his arm sword technique named Excalibur, the sacred sword, thus defeating Oneiros.
