Dozle Zabi, the second eldest son of Degwin Sodo Zabi, served as the Space Attack Force Commander for the Principality of Zeon. His role during the One Year War was akin to that of a Fleet Admiral in World War II, moving fleets strategically to secure victories across space.
Towering and muscular with visible scars, Dozle's intimidating appearance belies his genuinely likable personality. He is gregarious and good-natured, well-liked by his troops. A devoted family man, he cherishes his wife Zena and their baby daughter Mineva. Among his siblings, Dozle shares a particularly close bond with his younger brother Garma and eagerly anticipates the day Garma would become an admiral in his own right.
After Garma's death, Dozle dismisses Char Aznable from his division, holding him responsible for incompetence, though not suspecting foul play. This incident deepens Dozle's disdain for his sister Kycilia, especially when she takes Char under her wing.
Renowned for leading his troops personally in battle, Dozle commands immense respect within the Space Attack Force. Alongside his bodyguard and friend Shin Matsunaga, he often conducted frontline "inspections" using his custom MS-06F Zaku II mobile suit, which frequently turned into impromptu raids on Earth Federation forces.
Dozle's command center is located at Solomon, an asteroid later renamed Konpei Island by the Federation. It is here that he makes his final stand. In late UC0079, the Federation launches an offensive against Solomon, deploying Salamis and Magellan class vessels.
When the Federation successfully deploys beam dispersion smoke, Dozle orders the mandatory evacuation of all non-essential personnel. Simultaneously, the Federation unveils its Solar System array at Solomon, destroying any escape attempts.
Dozle pilots his MA-08 Big Zam mobile armor to buy time for evacuees. Soon after, he engages the Federation's Gundam mobile suit. During the battle, his Big Zam's I-Field generator is disabled by a kamikaze attack from a core fighter, and the Gundam eventually disables the Big Zam. In his final moments, Dozle exits the cockpit and fires a machine gun at the Gundam, causing Amuro to momentarily falter with fear and doubt. He perishes in the subsequent explosion of the Big Zam. His death signals the beginning of the end for Zeon forces in space.
