Colonel Silver is the first high-ranking Red Ribbon Army officer Goku encounters, and he finds himself overwhelmed and unprepared for the challenge.
He demonstrates considerable talent and power as a fighter, with a particular fondness for weapons and exceptional marksmanship. Unlike many of his peers, he doesn't resort to violence immediately to obtain information; instead, he asks questions and only turns to physical force if necessary.
Colonel Silver's speed surprises even Goku when he swiftly grabs the bundle containing the Dragon Balls and Dragon Radar from Goku’s hands. In the manga, Colonel Silver has a minor role, but his presence is more significant in the anime due to additional filler episodes created by Toei to extend the storyline before new chapters were released.
Similar to Colonel Violet, Colonel Silver receives more character development in the anime. However, his personality varies significantly across different dubs without any changes to the animation itself.
In the Japanese dub, Colonel Silver is depicted as quiet and serious. In the FUNimation dub, he becomes short-tempered, aggressive, yet respectful to superiors and occasionally kind to citizens. The French dub portrays him as assertive, while the Castilian dub shows him as irritable and foul-tempered. Contradictorily, in the Portuguese dub, he is patient and understanding, incapable of becoming angry.
In the manga, Commander Red mentions that Colonel Silver will be executed for his failure, though this scene is never shown. In the anime, he is called back to the Red Ribbon base for questioning. Despite begging for another chance, Commander Red denies it, ordering guards to remove him. Though Colonel Silver leaves calmly, the fact that two guards are sent after him suggests an off-screen execution soon followed.
It remains unknown whether he escaped alive and survived until the end of Dragon Ball GT, as he was not seen during the Super 17 Saga when other villains escaped from Hell.
