Despite both being shy, Renji returns to see her at the station every day after school and they soon become friends. Chihiro has a deep love for reading novels. Renji later discovers that Chihiro suffers from a severe case of anterograde amnesia, where she cannot remember anything that happened more than thirteen hours ago, except for events before a certain accident. This incident from her past has left her with this condition, leading her to carry a diary where she records each day's events. This way, when she forgets everything the next day, she can remind herself of what transpired the previous day. Ironically, she retains an excellent memory for anything that occurred within the last thirteen hours. Renji shares a passion for reading novels. After discussions with Chihiro, he decides to collaborate with her to help fulfill her dream of writing a book. As they work on the novel together, their bond grows stronger and they fall in love.
