Charlés is actually a magical creature known as an Exceed, hailing from the world of Edolas. The official reason for sending Baby-Exceeds to Earthland was to eliminate Dragon Slayers. However, the true motive was to protect them from the impending destruction of Edolas and the Exceed kingdom of Extalia. It was later revealed that she is the princess of the Exceed race, daughter of Queen Shagotte, thus inheriting her mother's power of precognition. Due to this ability, she was always aware of the Exceeds' fabricated mission on Earthland and believed her real task was to kill Wendy. This knowledge caused her immense stress and emotional turmoil during the Edolas arc.
Her personality is stern and direct. She disapproves of frivolous behavior.
Initially, she treats Happy with cold indifference but gradually warms up to him over time. Their relationship notably improves during the Edolas arc.
