He first appears when Natsu and Lucy ask him for a ride to Galuna Island. Initially, he declines their request but changes his mind upon learning they are Mages. While sailing, he informs Natsu, Lucy, Gray, and Happy about the curse of Galuna Island. As they approach the island, he mysteriously "disappears."
In reality, he is the son of Moka and a native of Galuna Island. Years ago, Bobo left the island when his father and the other villagers started forgetting their true nature as Demons due to the Moon Drip effect.
