kiryu akiko

Appears in Mermaid's Gaze. Shingo's older sister, Akiko, held herself responsible for her brother's violent behavior and planned to die with him in a double suicide by consuming "poison" (mermaid's flesh). However, only she ended up dying. A "doll" resembling her was created, which Shingo seeks a century later, believing it to be his sister's preserved body encased in wax after discovering it did not decay.

After Yuta decapitates the "doll," Shingo picks up its head and realizes it was just a wax doll all along.
