Highschool of the Dead Chapter 27 Discussion

Without Kouta their hopeless. His knowledge alone is keeping all of them alive.

Aside from Rei being the usual irrational bitch that she is that was incredibly dull for something that took two months to write/draw - and it will be another two month wait for the next. For an action manga like this it sure doesn't deliver on a consistent basis.

This chapter was pretty intence. it was really great. I wonder when the next is going to come out.

the gang arrives at the police station. only finding no signs of survivors. but recent tire marks suggest the remaing cops were able to get some vehicles working once again. the group decides to raid the armory but finds the door heavily shielded that even a 12 gauge breaching round probably wont open. luckily Hirano still kept a couple tools in his pack and was able to pick the lock( only possible because the electronic lock on the door was fried by the emp so lock is now pick able). Unfortunately the armory is already empty, so the the gang decide to check out the evidence lockup room for any confiscated illegal weapons they might have in there.

The gang kills a bunch of zombies including a cop that rei recognized who looked like he tried to kill himself but was unsuccessful. Saeko kills a zombified SWAT/Riot cop and the gang gets a silenced MP5SFK and a M92 Beretta Vertec with a surefire attachment plus 2 spare mag for the pistol and 3 for the MP5.

The evidence lock up was fruitful as well. as they find and keep 4 Tokarev pistols and a m4 Beneli with red dot, plus several boxes of ammo. Hirano Plans to get everyone a pistol implying that it could be used if anyone ever decides to end their own lives rather than being Zombified.

yah. Takashi was sad he had to ditch the the Ithaca shotgun. but since the Beneli m4 share the same ammo, the ithaca is a dead weight at the moment. Saeko loots the dead swat for his holster and keeps the M92 at Hirano's suggestion.



Saeko was pretty badass this chapter as usual, as it seems she sensed the SWAT Zombie in a closed door room the group walk right past. She asks if their priority is to secure weapons and Takashi answers yes, then saeko licks her lips in her psycho mode and answer that there are weapon right here and proceeds to bust down the door and stabs the SWAT zombie in the face. the party gains 2 weapons they otherwise could have missed.
