Highschool of the Dead Chapter 1 Discussion

Awesome first chapter!

As expected, the manga is already way better than the anime!

The art is fantastic, it almost has a Tite Kubo feel to it, especially if you've read "Zombie Powder".

The dude that's smoking a cigarette, and get's gut-jobbed in the alley, looks like a character straight out of ZP.

The pacing/excitement is much better as well, it's just executed better imo.

Can't wait for later volumes that get past the anime!

Urahara Out!!

I love it the detail was superb but the story line was kind of generic regarding zombie flicks  but what I really love was the characters they were easily burned and distinguished in my mind funny too add that with rampaging zombies I'll read it any time.

So I'm enjoying the anime, which is why I decided to start reading the manga.

Exactly what you said.  Love the series.

This is like one of those B-rated zombie movies. Exactly what I need. XD

I get the feeling I'm gonna love this manga. ^_^

Oh! And Rei is hot. ;)

Same for me, 2nd anime that made me wonna look in the manga version. I was surprised how ep1 and chapter1 are very similar. Great art, ecchi is stupid but I guess it's ok, the slap scene was better in the anime though :D

I like the potential it has, except so far I just kind of want to punch Rei in the face.

I got curious and started to see this in the manga, less on the colored horror on this one but the story is what I'm up to, so nice manga I would say

1st episode from the anime is far different here, place settings, minor events

Nice bloody start and protagonist is badass!

I'm interested to know if the "it's just a flesh wound" line from Hisashi was a Monty Python reference by the mangaka, the translators or just a general saying not linked to MP.

Made me lol though.
