The anime didn't even follow the manga in the past 2 seasons, so why should we believe the third season is a continuation of ongoing manga events?

Even so, I don't really hold much hope for Nagi's character development. After breaking the stone, and after reasuring her conviction to draw the best selling manga ever... twice, she's still the same as she was in the first chapters, only in a different environment. Considering how much she's dissapearing from the main scene right now, I believe it's about time for a real change.

By the way, is it just me or Nagi looks a lot taller in the last few pages?

I just noticed this, but Hayate's kinda a player. Ayumi, Isumi, A-Tan, and finally Ruka. The other's obviously don't count.

Actually, Isumi lost interest in him, so she's out of the picture.

Really?

Nice chapter~

Expecting more development next week.

Normally I would be very excited over this kind of development but if the new anime is to be taken as a true continuation of what is happening here its a bit hard to get into this since in the end we know that Nagi will return to the mansion with Hayate as his butler and she will still be a useless person.

You're also forgetting Hinagiku.

Colour pages! Looks like progress is being made nicely. Hayate is reassessing his position. Pretty clear how things will turn out though. Will be interesting to see how they get there.

Also kind of random having Hina in the spread when she's had nothing to do with the arc, not that I'm complaining ^^

im liking this plot progression, finally hayate is think about where he stands and his position

i was practically bawling out of laughter when he forgot about athena, ayumu and didnt even remember izumi xD

i think hayate will end up staying with nagi regardless of his debt because he has his own obligation to her and will always stay by her side, the same would go for maria as well, they have gone past the point of simply being together for the sake of money but more because they are like family

This truly shows why Ruka is one of the best candidates as Hayate's girlfriend. She loves Hayate to the extent of even willingly paying off his debt in order to be with him. The progress so far, with Mikado dying, Ruka confessing and Hayate rethinking about the future is going really smoothly. Hayate would most likely stay with Nagi, as it's quite obvious in MANY ways. However, I hope he would still go out with a girl for once. I do not need a lolicon relationship between Hayate and Nagi. It would be too obvious. I'm loving the plot and arc so far. This manga has so much potential for a good ending. Now, I just need more Hina! :)

The full color two page spread of the characters in Halloween costumes is great. Hina especially.

Nagi is really starting to annoy me, i mean i always disliked her, felt she was horrible in comparison to Athena, Hinagiku, Ruka, Maria and the rest but if she did her thing then i just looked over it, but now she is tying down Hayate to not only financial obligation but moral one also, thats not right at all....she is basically ruining his life, sure he may be having "fun" but if one thinks about it, it is because he adapted to a scenario where he had no other choice, it made him view the positives of being with Nagi rather than thinking about the other possibilities he could have had if he weren't her butler like being with Athena for example.

The whole ending up with Ruka is very unlikely, which is unfortunate since in character alone she destroys Nagi, but that said hopefully when all is said in done if Hayate must stay with the useless parasite then hopefully she at least becomes more independent so its not obligation that makes him stay with her.

eh...I think we are all forgetting that Hayate owes his LIFE to Nagi. She did way more for him than he can ever repay.

Also...Nagi may act immature at times, but when it really comes down to it, she can get things done (eg. managing an apartment, stocks, etc.) "Parasite" is too strong of a word I think ahaha. Shes not that bad xD

That being said...Ruka is an awesome character. (so is Athena tho xD) yea...its going to be a tragic end, but the only "right" ending would be for Hayate to stay with Nagi. Especially after she broke the king's jewel for him =\

Ruka shouting her feelings for Hayate straight-fowardly amused that it made me cracked up. :D
