Has anyone read new ending from the newest version published in 2016? How much does it vary from previous version?

20thCB was awesome a 9/10

21stCB was cool 7/10

I guess in the end friendship is indeed important

This is what I think as well. Somewhat underwhelming imo compared to the original but still a enjoyable ride towards the end. Damn, I'm going to miss this series. Might even check out the movies...

Well this stupid. Having another friend was unnecessary and just dragged everything and extend the story enough for Kenji to be involved, and it was quite the asspull. I felt like it ruined Friend's character a little bit, it literally came out of nowhere.

Oh well. 6.5-7/10. Would have been 8/10 if Kenji and Yukiji had a better scene or more screen time.

I really need to think about this a bit more before I make my final judgements about the series (I really think 20th century boys and 21st century boys should be considered the same story), but one thing's for sure. This was special. And it was very, very good.

I reread the entire series and liked the ending more than before. Because I noticed something critical to this manga.

I always wondered why the manga had this name. The name "20th Century Boys" appears in several chapters. But most important appearance is in the first chapter where Kenji says "We thought something would change, but nothing changed." when referring to him playing the T-Rex song in lunchtime. Well he was wrong. Something had changed. Katsumata decided not to suicide after hearing the song. Kenji saved a friend's life. That touched my heart.
