This was a great ending for the manga. I don't really remeber Katsumata, but he might have not even been in any of the previous chapters. Anyways 9/10.

Yes, Kataumata's face is never shown in the manga. The only time we are hinted at his existence in "20th century boys" is when young Kiriko was talking to Sadakiyo and wondered who the other kid with the mask is.

Well this stupid. Having another friend was unnecessary and just dragged everything and extend the story enough for Kenji to be involved, and it was quite the asspull. I felt like it ruined Friend's character a little bit, it literally came out of nowhere.

Oh well. 6.5-7/10. Would have been 8/10 if Kenji and Yukiji had a better scene or more screen time.

You clearly ignored the first chapter where teen Kanna saw a giant robot after waking up, which is exactly the same scene which we saw in the last few chapters of 20th CB. If you think it was an asspull then you havent digged deep enough

I like how the author revealed Katsumata to be "Friend" and then ended the manga right there. It's like he's saying "I told you everything, the fuck should I write more?".

And so it ends for real. What a ride. The first 150 chapters or so are amongst the best stuff ever in a manga. Towards the end it lost a bit of steam in my estimation but it was still a heck of a ride.

In some ways it reminded me of Old Boy: how a seemingly childish misunderstanding or slight can have colossal consequences for the future.

So I guess this is the end then ... Well first wanna talk about the last chapter, I am assuming that him and Yukiji never got together then? That is somewhat sad (like romance) but oh well ... And I guess the main evil was something that could have been prevented perhaps ...

Anyways as for this little continuation, I think it was much needed after the end of 20th century boys (mainly it shows who the new friend was) but also for a few other reasons ... However I think there were still some flaws with the series that prevent me from giving it a 9 or 10. Mainly among them include things like what exactly Kanna's powers were as I feel they were just put in there and poorly explained, as well as things like what happened to the rest of friend's original party, why was the second friend brought in only later and felt he had to pretend to be Fukubei, etc. ... I dunno, just a few things here and there but overall a great series.

It KIND OF pulled a Death Note after original Friend died. :/ Obviously, Death Note isn't as good as this series, but it kind of reminded me of how Death Note
threw in a new villain who had little to no backstory after the main antagonist died.

Yeah, but good series. 7/10 for this, and a definite 8 for the original series. I just feel like there's still so many questions unanswered and it was so rushed in these last few volumes.

I feel like I would have liked this entire series more as an anime rather than manga. Kenji should be voiced by Hirata Hiroaki no doubt!!! :) Miyata Kouki for Yoshitsune. Miyano Mamoru for Fukube (obviouslyyy). Fumiko Orikasa for Yukiji. Haruka Tomatsu for Kanna.
