I've already seen I Robot references, Blade Runner references and now Ghost In The Shell. Not really a problem, and I feel that these references give this remake of the Tezuka story more texture and realism.

All in all, gonna take a break before diving into volume 4.

"I, Robot" reference?

All the talks of a robot killing humans, robots dreaming. I'm talking about the Isaac Asimov style of storytelling. Asimov would often feature stories about robots having dreams and developing advanced thinking beyond their capabilities.

Also, don't forget 'The Robot Laws'...

Well of course, it's not the first time we see this kind of theme used in robot works, but I think it's still pretty intriguing and interesting in its own ways.

Also, now we get a clearer picture about Pluto and who commands him.

No sane man would ever make a reference to I Robot in their own work.

Yeah I think he meant more like an homage, not an actual reference. The way dreams are used here to humanize Gesicht and other robots is reminiscent of I, Robot, and the idea of implanted artificial memory is handled similarly to Ghost in the Shell. There are of course a lot more similarities as well.

so Pluto is a wandering soul that travels from body to body....okay

I figured that it wasn't Pluto's real body since there's no reason for him to have a humanoid one too.
