Battle Angel Alita Chapter 2 Discussion

Addicted to eating brain? That's weird.

Alita and Ido had a little fight since she wants to be a hunter warrior and he wants her to be his beautiful creation. He realizes that it is her life to live and not his, so she's free to make her own decisions.

Also, despite Ido not being the serial killer in the 1st chapter, he still enjoys killing and hunting criminals for his own sake, which is an interesting dynamic to his character. Alita also feels the same way when asked at the hunter registration why she wanted to become one. She said it was for her own sake. Now that she's been registered, what kind of trials will she face now? And at the end she faces the big dude who eats brains due to his endorphin addiction. She took out one of his arms, but he destroyed her whole body, which goes to show that she's not invincible despite being badass with the martial arts skills she's displayed so far. Hopefully Ido can save her and rebuild her body stronger.

¿Ahora quien salvara a Gally? Daisuke no solo caza por Gally, si no que también lo hace por placer. Comprensible viviendo en un mundo como ese. Bastante bueno a su estilo el dibujo de este manga.

@Touka And nothing was learned from this? Like switching back to the original names when starting to translate the second or third manga? Or reprinting with correct naming and a new translation? (France got that for Dragon Ball)



Because as much as I can understand the title (probably coming from the early chaptzrs titled "Angel of..."), Jeru und Salem change make no sense. (in France, Salem was even altered into Zalem to maintain the pronounciation and thus the play). I'm not an english speaker but Gally looks more english than "Alita".

Damn! I'm surprised by how graphic this is. A brain addicted cyborg.  Seeing brain and eyes popping out.



The woman getting her head blown off in the first chapter I was like cool!

Seeing the violence in this chapter I was like nasty. I think I'm gonna like this. This is what ive been looking for.



I love how detailed the art is in this series.

                        I like the fact that Alita got her ass kicked here, I thought she was to badass from the start on the OVA for a cyborg that was unconscious for god knows how long. Hopefully, Daisuke will save the day.
