History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Chapter 1 Discussion

wooooow... i'm picking this one up because of a recommendation from two friends but... eeeeeeh. after reading the first chapter, the only thing that stood out to me is how DATED it feels to read. i have never really been a big fan of the wimp beginnings that most shonen mangas use and with this kind of art(here's hoping it gets better and soon) this one does not look like it has aged well. Still there are over five hundred chapters so i'll keep reading it for now. After all, The Breaker did get awesome pretty fast, though it had the added benefit of having ridiculously brilliant art to help me keep on reading it.

It looks really good, haven't seen the anime, not sure why xD let's see how I'm going to finish this...

Kenichi sure lives a tough life. No friends, gets picked on and does the dirty work around. He sure is weak but this girls will shape him up good in the form of martial arts.

Surprisingly good first chapter. I thought it was gonna be more of an Hajime no Ippo rip-off but this seems to be very good on it's own. I'm hoping it gets better!

4/5 for this chapter.
