This novel is about a regressor, who was executed in his previous life for treason while trying to figure out the source of the calamities facing the world. This novel can be described as a romance novel at it's core. However, what sets it apart is the setting and the story that the MC finds himself in.

The world depicted in this novel is not unfamiliar to those who enjoy fantasy settings. However, the author is able to delve deep into such a world, and truly bring it to life. There are complex magic systems that each have their rules and limitations. The rich setting immerses the slowly eases the reader into the world and creates a hunger for the reader to understand the underlying mysteries along with the protagonists.

Similarly, the world of men, rife with politics, is neither too simple nor overly complex. Each faction, with its set of motivations and strengths, naturally fits with the world we are introduced to without creating extra drama or extended detours from the main plot. I really enjoyed the intrigue and the mysteries - it's always a joy to see how our protagonists handle the situation they find themselves in. I like that not every problem can be solved with a battle or overwhelming force. Oftentimes, a smile or clever alliances and making the right friends at the right times can be just as potent. Characters are just as likely to utilize laws and the court systems to extract justice as they are likely to fight a battle or participate in a duel. The story is constantly keeping the reader on their toes as to how a situation might unfold.

My biggest gripe is with the power levels in this world.

Spoiler

MC is arguably OP. He's the strongest awakener is 10 years ahead of the curve on awakened powers. Not to mention, he is a regressor, and knows the future and has developed an in depth understanding of all the most important events that will occur due to his position as the Commander of the Calvary in his past life.

ML is the strongest person in the world by far by being a mage, divine power weilder, swordmaster, awakener, and royalty - all rolled up into one. Not to mention super hot and devoted to MC.

When the emperor is the ML's older brother and is the leader of the strongest organization, most political problems are pretty trivial. Anything that can be solved by force can be easily handled by the world's top 2 strongest individuals. And with Yuder's knowledge of the past, they've assembled a merry band of extremely useful people.

It's hard to stay invested in a story that doesn't have any possible problem that isn't trivial to solve.

Overall, other than the issue of issues being too easy to resolve by the MC and ML, the story is cute and well done. I would highly recommend it.

This book is dark. I hate that Samrat was so ruthless and abusive, I kept hoping that he would stop abusing her an fall in love. (Which I hope it not sick).  Because he was brutal. Now he knows she’s the first love.  He’s different.  Forgiving him would be almost impossible.  Samrat is rotten

One of the best I've read so far! Thank you! If it wasn't for the application I wouldn't found this book on my own!

Any author update? Will we get the missing chapters? Is this book going to be finished?

This writer is fixated on the repugnant aspects of life. All of her offerings have multiple trigger warnings. Not sure if it's for shock value or she's obsessed with the ugliness of abuse in most if not all forms. Regardless life is ugly enough without including it in my literary choices.
