What's up with the ratings?! I put 5 Stars just to balance it out 😤

I can be considered a regular in the Chasing-Wife-Crematorium trope, so I can say this: the dog blooded element in this novel is not as bad as the 188 series, or "The Obsessive Shou Moves On" or "Pain Fetish". It can be considered light.

The reviews before me probably didn't heed the tags or just not used to this type of story.

Yes, the ML, Qin Muye, is somewhat a scumbag. But among other scumbag MLs, the deadly sin he most committed is probably indifference. His character personality and views are quite similar to another ML in the 188 series "Alpha Predator", Qu Moyu. Such as S-Class Alpha deserves S-Class Omega to appease the pheromones needs. So he ignored his feelings towards our Beta MC, but not to the extent of violating him like Qu Moyu.

Our MC, Rong Qiu, is also similar to Shen Dai from "Alpha Predator", yet a Beta and much manlier than Shen Dai.

The ABO universe here is much harsher to Beta rather than the usual Omega, which is always somewhat baffling to me. I guess Author just want to fit the story however they liked, because imo, Beta should be in the middle hierarchy due to their non-pheromone bias. They can function the most normal in the society after all. But alas, any ABO story is always shaped this way, if the MC is Omega, then it's discriminatory towards Omega, if the MC is Beta, then it's Beta.

The amnesiac storyline give me enough satisfaction as the first few chaptes of reading MC being submissive as he can be, makes my heart bleed. It was explained that he was growing up without affection, so his views of love is unhealthy and distorted, however seeing him becomes humble in front of ML will make your heart itch. But all the unhappiness in these early chaptes are just that; not to the point you want to rip your heart out (I've read worse so I probably have lower bottom line).

Like you know the truth: if MC doesn't have such low esteem, he would probably pierce through the ML indifferences from the start. He would make scenes and ML, who tolerated him, will slowly realize his feelings.

Once MC forget ML, he's like everything you want in a MC: strong, independent, rational, witty, high-achiever, and the list continues... he makes my little heart moves, he's way cooler than ML at this point.

What is unique about the story, is that the side couple is even more fit to be a "chasing-wife-crematorium" than the main couple.

I thought this pair of AB couple was working well and can set an example to our main couple, but they spiralling into a real crematorium. It setting up a contrast with the main couple problem; that the ML is still a much decent guy. ML has his head in the right place, albeit his heart was astray in the past; but the other guy has his head astray, although his heart was already on the right place.

The ending is very fitting for both couple. It's quite consistent and realistic with their conflict, so you won't be disappointed.

And for those who always ails with 2nd Male Lead syndrome: don't bother there isn't any. 😂 It's quite hard to find another ML for our MC as he's truly capable of himself.

Lastly, a little bit pet peeve of mine: the narration of the story sometimes didn't let me enjoy hidden plot (s). It was told through a 3rd party, 'reader all-knowing' POV, but in some part, it tells too much. We readers know too much so it dampened the excitement.

Honestly, from me, this story can be a solid 4.1 stars. It's enjoyable.

I really really enjoyed this story, even the more expensive chapters were worth spending coins for. Wonderful love story and great writing!

By far the worst out of Jane Doe’s stories. The plot feels directionless and like it isn’t going anywhere. Doesn’t help that updates have slowed down so it really feels like it’s dragging on.
