Ex Rank Supporting Role’s Replay in a Prestigious School Chapter 1039 Discussion

I'll divide my review on three parts:

1. How I found the novel

2. What the novel is about

3. Screaming about the novel (might contain spoilers)

*deep breaths* HERE I GO.

1. I just want to say something that has been said quite a few times by other reviews. The translation for this novel is actually such a big part for this novel because from someone who has read quite far and is updated to the current chapter, there's so many things that are really hidden in plain sight cuz words in korean tend to have a double meaning. Aside from that, translation needs to be digestible. When I first found this novel, I think I also drooped it cuz the translation s**ked. But as I kept running out of books to read, I endured the pain and sufferring and boy am I glad that I did. By the time this review is written, there is one site which I can absolutely call a blessing. The translation is good, plus there are footnotes for things a curious reader like me eats up like a madman statved for days. Its also on this site, they have about 134+ chapters (as of 12-15-23) the other one has over 720 chapters. If youre looking to read the novel, I suggest going the first site with lesser chapters to familiarize with the terms in the footnotes, then continue to the other one. The latter's tranlations starts to be good starting chapter 171, but I dont suggest starting there because you will miss out a ton of other things.

2. The novel is really, really good. The writer is amazing. Its written so beautifully, the characters introduced gets their own progress as chapters goes on. And the MC oh gosh I love the MC so much so. If you really liked novels like TCF and ORV, you will really like the MC in this novel. This novel changed my hyperfixation from TCF to it LOL XD. You can guess the MCs qualities just from knowing who Cale Henituse and Kim Dokja is. Though Jo Euishin (Ex-Rank's MC) is well... more polite hahaha (thats not sarcastic, he really is polite and really humble). The worldbuilding is also great. Even though similar stories might have similar plots, you can feel the uniqueness of this novels' story. Its really good. As I said before, the writing is also great. There are thing you wont notice until you do a re-read. Well, if you pay attention to every detail you might not have to, but even the smallest detail would come up as a huge plot twist. Its really great to savour this novel. The progression is... well, fast and slow? Its a highschool novel, but 1000+ chapters in and they're only at the summer vacation of the second year. I think thats slow, but I also think its a bit fast... well you'll understand what I mean when you read it. The raws updates everyday on weekdays (unless there's a hiatus from the Author. And amazingly, the author keeps up with what they're writing with that kind of update schedule). Its a reaaally great read and I've recommended it to several online friends. You wont regret reading this but will probabaly regret not reading it earlier. Hahaha, well thats just based on experience.

3. Are you curious? I can tell you if you're really curious.Spoiler

I think I already did spoil some things just by saying that the novel hides things in plain sight and you have to attention to every detail. One of the biggest spoiler is the MCs identity which even after 1039 chapters, we only got a glimpse of HAJSHSJXGAJSHA (even with Cale's case (another unfinished novel) we got to know who Cale is in like, part 1 of the novel lol. Kim Dokja doesn'tcount cuz ORV is already finished but even then, orv only has like 500+ chapters hahahaha. There'sso much good stiff in this novel, like how the MC cant rest. And I mean that. There'salways something happening. Which is why we treasure heartwarming moments in this novel cuz there's few moments where we get to see Jo Eushin relive stress T^T the current arc has like, three things going on. You can infer what you can infer from that alone. Anyways, go read the novel for more <3

[collapse]

If you came this far, wow thank you for reading this ramble. If you do decide to read the novel, I hope you guys enjoy it. Happy reading! Stay hydrated and I jope no appliaces break if you decide to go wild after reading it.

so much torture. what is with these stories female suffers so much at the hands of male yet in the end go back to him. there is a child lost so there is blood feud between them. even if he is not directly involved he is the one who send her to prison and didn't fulfil his promise to keep her safe
