It start great with the somewhat decent romance development at early chapter during 1st arc. But then it goes full on urban cultivator route which somewhat dampen the good mood and impression of early chapter. Probably the author run out the original novel where he copied 1st arc as other than he is the villain, it can be written as any misunderstood protagonist story. The further it goes the setting started to collapse and feels forced. For your own sanity, just stop after MC get the 2nd heroine affection at max. Spoiler
Because the supposed to be balancing act between 2 heroine while they sort their relationship didn't happen, they accept each other without much fuss. Which feels very wrong considering how many chapter dedicated to romance in early arc, TL;DR the author set the wrong expectation because of 1st arc. The author kinda address it along the way after that but it feels weird or just after though.
