Jotaro’s method was not to pamper the mutt but to threaten it and force it to be an ally. If that doesn’t work, he uses it as a weapon itself! Like Death 13, this is a mix of excitement, tension, and hilarity. Jotaro kicking off the ground gave me that feeling I mentioned in the last thread, the feeling of fear in your fooling of such a fearsome foe breaking for one mere moment and being ravaged. The moments like Star Platinum scoping out the blind enemy had a real sense of fluidity to them. The sand being launched was creative and showed more of N’Doul’s competence and adaptability. And the farting and panicking dog being tossed was just comedy gold. Like seriously, to have the enemy thrive on sound and burrow into the ground, and to fight it with a gliding system is a perfect way to build some wonderful tension. The ending even had me shout, seeing Jotaro get right behind his enemy as N’Doul went from predator to prey was a good touch. That said, I’m curious what Jotaro’s play is here. He could make it a speed test at whoever lands the first hit, but seeing the speed and power of the enemy stand, this may not be over yet. There could be a final step to ensure safety.
I wanted to mention that Iggy is like the perfect depiction of an ugly-cute dog. The kind of ugly creature that would actually eat your hair and fart every 2 seconds, looking as if it is devoid of any kind of intelligence. In that way, it’s like any pug you’d see on the street. It’s also interesting that he is completely self interested right now. Enemies could potentially turn him against the heroes.
