Came into this needing fluff but not pink cutesy fluff, just josei level fluff if you know what I mean. And this novel didn't disappoint. Granted, I found this novel only after reading all available manhua chapters, so by the time I started the novel, I was already way past hooked.Anyways, chemistry wise, the ML and FL start with just smoke and then they slow simmer into a sizzle by chapter 99+. Haven't reached boiling point yet, but this doesn't have a sm+t tag. In my view, they both fall at the same time since it's a slow starting romance, but the ML picks up the game faster than the FL. She's still using the acting card as a mental barrier.The plot isn't too deep, but it's not too s*upid either. I'd call this a good middle of the line whodunit. It's obvious from the get go that there are a lot of players to the crime (that had already happened before the novel started), and we know early on who's on the list too. It's just a matter of pinpointing the mastermind - who again, is obvious, so they spend a lot of time trying to collect evidence and piecing the detailed story.I'm not in it for that, though. I'm in it for the slow burn. Which I love. ML knows how to get his lady's attention despite having zero experience on the love arena. Probably the ML card playing into this, but I'm not complaining.FL is an actress, so she's physically stunning, but I like that as a personality, she's normal. No powers, no hidden anything, nothing but good old experience in the acting business. She's a bit slow on the uptake sometimes, but she's got enough of a personality. Reserved and guarded to most other characters, but treats ML special even if she doesn't know it, and ML is falling all the way for that side of her that treats him special. She takes on her main task with as much gumption as she can muster.Translations, I have few complaints. It's good.Overall, a good walk in the park. Don't expect greatness, and this satisfies like a filling sandwich with iced tea.
