Novel slavery...

People have already addressed some aspects, the fact that humans tend to reproduce faster than many of the long lived races so they win out in numbers.

Another thing to note is perception of time. If you remember as a child, your day seemed to have gone forever, but as you got older, the day passes quicker and quicker. That is because with age, we find things we already know and filter them, thus our perception of time changes. To an elf, 20 years might seem like 1 year to us. So their reaction to issues can be much slower than they should be as they don't perceive the urgency of time in the same way humans do.

Now in case of beastkin races, often times they reproduce just as fast or faster. But they often time lack civilization and broken down into tribes. That is because of their warrior/feral like instincts. Thus humans that utilize technology, cheap trickery and taking out 1 tribe at a time can achieve beating them as well.

One important thing is that humans unlike other races are not adapt to the environment. Thus the need for adaptation drive progress. If we look at human history, countries with high resources get overtaken by those with low resources because those with low resources are forced to adapt and make due. While those who don't take things more leasurly.

There are people who read MGA and ATG, and just about every Isekai ever.

Most of them became high civilizations by abusing a natural advantage to snowball their neighbours.

Well in most Novel the Case is that Human aren´t bestowed with Special power/traits but Human are adeptable. In Novel Elves live in Forste with Nature and Dwarfes in Caves or Mountains, but human can pretty much live where they want. Human have the greatest Number and dont need to much of time to Mature. And other races in Such novels are are Pretty Biased. Like Elves are Archer/Assasins or Mages, and have a Weak Body. While Dwarfes have a Strong Body but not much Magic and don´t have much Agility. So Human are in Most Novels The Ruler cause they have all Roles of Fighters.

The simple answer is always that the author chose to do so for whatever reason.
Any reason you can think up for why humans would have the advantage could just as easily be done in a way that they would have the disadvantage, so it is simply the author wanting to write a human dominant setting.
Some just do it worse than others...

Because the author wants it so is the obvious answer... But as far as in universe reasons go...

Our brains are like "empty" books at birth, with noticeably more space in them for new information than adult brains, but as we approach adulthood, the learned information is compressed and some of the excess pages are removed... Essentially, much of our learning ability is sacrificed for improved performance...

Unless you assume the brains of elves are magic and don't need to follow physics and logic, the long life span of elves would likely be a weakness... Their society would be perpetually, increasingly dominated by those, whose brains are optimized for performance over learning... by the ultra conservative old, who would fight, tooth and nail against any change and progress...

If humans, manage to get out from the medieval stasis... It is likely, elves could not keep up with humans in technological progress...

You do realize that humans have done the same thing before, namely China and Japan and for modern day examples, Myanmar and North Korea and Cuba.

Elves can technically live in any environment humans can, but they excel in the forest as they have a strong bond with nature.

And yey? Though if it works well does that mean I have to stop slacking and write chapter 2? lol

They still have faster reflexes than humans, so they can catch prey quicker. Their sense of smell also lets them locate prey easier.

That said, beastkin tend to be omnivores like humans, just the carnivorous ones prefer meat.

Elves have better vision and can listen to the voice of the forest. They can also eat a lot more greens that humans can not process well.

Due to elves natural advantages, they can detect predators easier and can locate their food easier. For the human, these things are much more difficult, they will either die or adapt through effort and creativity.

But how did they get that advantage? They are all human, what set them apart was that due to being in certain conditions have forced them to advance in a certain direction which favored them against their enemies.

Not really, in the early game, you have a HUGE advantage over the humans so you can wipe the humans out.

But if you live in conditions where you are not forced to progress, then the humans will overtake you simply because their natural disadvantage forces them to put in more effort into everything.

Of course there is progress, but progress is based on survival. Certain traits are seen as favorable and certain traits are considered unfavorable. As your society evolves, those traits vary.

It's all a matter of which direction your progress takes you. The roman empire advanced a ton, but at one point their progress led to their own downfall.

It's not that the beastkins can't advance above humans, its simply probability is against them because their natural advantages means they need to spend less effort into coming up with ways to survive.
