Truth to be told, if I were in SY's position, I would probably agree without batting my eyes, because contrary to what I read, I'm a very practical person and I don't really believe in the so called "true love".
It's just that, like you, I feel sad about original SY. While her families were waving the "we're doing this for your good" banner, no one even noticed that "Su Yan" had changed her essence, it's like she was forgotten, just like that. In the end, were they really care about Su Yan if they couldn't even recognised her?
In another transmigration story, MC was at least inherited the orig host's memory or have read the story line, while in here, MC had no clue at all, yet they still didn't notice the different and just brush it all as being "sensible".

Reading through the chapters where their daughter has just realized that a childhood friend/older brother type is in love with her and everyone is going batshit protective. The 'how dare he think he's worthy of her' mentality of his own parents is grating on my nerves. Like, WT actual F is wrong with him guys? He never had a girlfriend, never had any scandals, ALSO, never had the plans of pushing her (being that she's just about to enter college), and is willing enough to wait for her...so what the F is actually the issue? Can't she friggin' decide for herself??? She's not an effing child. Damn it. ALSO, parents of said guy, especially the dad, CHILL. He's angry at his own son because he sees the daughter as part of the family so his son's love for her is impure. WHAT? I mean, seriously, if his son marries her, then she'll legally be part of the family. It's just so effing stupid. Everyone is being immature about the whole issue that it's not even cute anymore.

Not really. But she uses some of the skills (e.g.: embroidery) she knows to earn some cash. Schemes basically don't really work on her because harem lifestyle has been vicious enough for her to become numb to any attempt to make her jealous. Not that she wouldn't act so once in a while to keep the marriage life 'spicy'. I think MC is like a mixture of the MCs from To Be A Virtuous Wife and Eight Treasure Trousseau, only the setting was changed from ancient China to modern world.
PS: MC learning to use the smartphone is the cutest. She started from poking on the keypad and taking half a day to reply into a smartphone addict with countless followers.

MTL till chapter 57.....and felt so bored with this novel. Maybe bcoz it's MTL, tho I MTL few novel and never stopped.
Or maybe bcoz the story is quite simple....MTL is not really clear about it, but I think there's a lot chapters for the couple, basically we got to read the whole romancing your wife.
The enemies or shall I say love rivals, were pretty stubborn, especially the woman, but around chapter 50s, got resolved I think. While the men.......backed away seeing the mighty husband XD
