I like the fact that MC doesn’t have her body’s past memories, but she deals with it using context clues and the reactions if people.

Yeaa he never fought for her! The original Su Yan love him, if im reading it correctly, she stole her family registry(?) and ask Pei Ran that as long as he said yes they can elope and get married. But he was unwilling  then now that she got married, soul got replaced, relationship with her husband getting better, he keeps bothering her ugh

Are there more details about the first life? How did she die? What happened to the Emperor and the harem after she died?

I feel u too, Su Yan's parents are a product of a generation that cares more for the group than the individual like yeah they probs honestly cared for her as part of the unit but not her as an individual and I hope Su Yan finds a happier life in the next one because when it was shown how Su Yan silently cried in her room with no one to comfort her I felt that

@Eis

It's based on Asian values, if anything. If parents give children an education fit for them and give them a life of financial stability, that's the best thing they can do. And the original ex-bf was unreliable—he wasn't willing to fight for anything. If push comes to shove, would he protect Su Yan? With that mentality, they handed her off. In their eyes, ML was the best and they chose the best for their daughter. In their eyes, they truly thought they were doing something good for their daughter. By doing this good, they also benefitted all the family, killing two birds with one stone, essentially.

Not that I'm excusing what they did but I think this fits better with eastern values.

I think the original Su Yan was very pitiful. Until her death, this is what she suffered. No one listened. I guess this is why I'm not too big on transmigration stories.
