The FL does fall for the ML. The ML apparently wasn’t aware how painful it can be for the FL and the whole thing became a bit more consensual and ok when things were ok between them.

But the thing is, the misunderstandings keep coming one after the other and the author tends to use those moments to have the ML —as well as the other male love interests of other couples—force himself on the other person in ‘times of desperation’.

All I can say is that the author has a rather skewed perspective of what rape is and seem to view possessive/obsessive traits as romantic somehow.

Summary of chapters 24-50: (read w/ google translate)

Annoying green tea bitch of a half sister keeps on playing the i'm-pregnant-and-almost-miscarried-because-of-MC card. Per the CN novel template, you should already know she was impregnated by the MC's scumbag fiancee. Fake white lotus even framed the MC's younger mentally ill brother using this same move, and let the police arrest said younger brother (which is questionable since they should send him to a mental institution instead). MC's brother was beaten up/tortured, so she asks people for help.. but of course no one will lend a hand so she has no choice but go to the ML's embrace.

ML is your usual cold, aloof, CEO character who hates all girls except MC and is like a dog in heat when MC is around. Total caveman... we'll probably be rich if we get money each time he rips the MC's clothes during sexy time. MC finally agrees to sign the childbirth agreement he proposed so her brother will be saved. (Note to kids: when you grow up, never sign a contract or agreement without reading it. ) She ended up signing an agreement stating that the ML owns her and must obey him while said agreement is in effect; now a slave who needs to give him a baby. *eyeroll*

WTF!!?!?!!  I think the author is sick for this kind of plot and confusion ......like how twisted can you make the relations between a few people???? 

I'm only 500 chapters in. Things are crazy but I'm interested enough to keep reading. Tang Zhui and Mianmian's story is... hard to read because of everything that happens between them. Like, it's hard to enjoy his wingman instances with the main couple when you read all the bull he puts Mianmian through. It's uncomfortable. Honestly, the stuff between the main couple is pretty tame when it comes to these kinds of stories. At least he isn't abusing her and then acting hurt when she doesn't magically love him in spite of all that.

I do feel bad for some of the side characters. They get screwed figuratively and literally. Most times, it's self-inflicted but the few times it isn't, I want some justice for them. Then there's my man Ye Gu! Best side bro~

All in all, this story is crazy!

Almost Chinese novel that I've read are the same. It makes me bored...

But,,
At the moment, I read Mr. Fu, I Really Love You and Growing Fond of Mr. Nian. These two have a little different plot. 

WTF dude??!?!? I hereby proclaim the author is sick...... 

Growing fond of mr. nian, how the story develop now?? i've been stop read that novel because the story just tell about MC university and friends, and the ML never appear.
