The novel is only about 20% similar to the TVB show.  The novel has a very large harem, I think around a dozen women depending on who gets counted in it.  Of these, there is only one real NTR situation.

I will never ever read this novel 

I remember watching and liking the TVB live action adaptation of this when I was younger but how's the actual novel? 

I read it half way till the point where the ninja girl didn't get with the MC then skipped further to see what happens to the ninja girl if she died or not and ends up with her marrying someone other than the MC thus I dropped this novel. My favourite female lead disappointed me  

The story is good but i hate ntr so i stopped around that chapter so i didnt read it. I only read the ending to make my kokoro a little better. 

loooo, I know how you feel, you start to get invested into the characters, then it just BAM feels and hurt. you can't help but you "YOU F#$@ B$#%#$ ARGH!" I found myself coming to having a emotional  breakdown just  from reading this novel.
