Boy, I really enjoyed this Lost Children chapter. Maybe even more than the Golden Age arc, which is a huge amount of praise in and of itself. I don't know, I just think that Jill and Rosine were very well fleshed out characters and the themes of child abuse and running away from hardship were extremely well conveyed.

Guts was also fantastic here, ruthless and almost demonic in and of himself, but the way his relationship with Jill was handled still conveyed his humanity.

I agree completely.  Lost children arc was very interesting and it was very saddening yet realistic why Roshinu left and why Jill wanted to do the same. I feel bad that Jill has to stay in that cruel reality, but at least there was a slightly optimistic vibe that she will try to make things better for herself and not accept hardships without fighting back. Excellent overall, the only flaw imo was that the action dragged on for quite a while.

I was kinda prepared to observe a decline in quality after the GA arc since many people think so, but I have high expectations now and hope the next arc will be just as good.

This arc was absolutely fantastic with the way the theme of escapism was portrayed and handled. We get to see Roshino's side of the coin and we even feel sorry for her at the very end, however, Jill's struggle was specially compelling throughout the entirety of the arc. Quite a memorable side character, makes you think what if she went along with Guts...that would've been something alright, I miss her already.

The world of Guts is dark and violent. Her world is grey and violent too. But it is a battle that she can win herself. I guess thats true, Berserk.

Wow just wow! What a great ending to this unexpected awesomeness of an arc! I bow Miura!

The last 3 chapters of this mini-Arc where pure tear jerkers!

The panels with Guts holding Jill and confrontinger her where so frecking beautifull!

I love Jill from the moment we meet her and how she went to Guts in the old barn and slept on his lap.

I really hope Jill will turn it around at home and from the ways that it looks she will not take any bullshit at home anymore! I hope to one day see sweet little Jill again :)

Miura hit it right of the gates with the escapism thema in this arc, perfectly executed!

9,5/10 for Lost Children! Only the fight in forest before misty vally felt a little bit dragish, other than that perfection!

Leave it to Miura to create a black pit of hopelessness and still manage to shine a small lining of light into the cavern.

Jill is an absolutely necessary character in the world of Berserk. The vast many of its readers will never really relate to Guts, lofty dreams of Griffith, nor are we as banally villainous as some of the monsters and humans introduced.

We have a sense of right, but are just crushed under the weight of the world's problems, it's cruel injustice.

Jill decided not to murder her father which was refreshing from a storytelling point of view. Nor did she collapse into a rudderless wreck at the end of the chapter.

She will crawl, bite and yell for her place in this world.

Jill is someone everyone can relate to, indeed even aspire to be more of.

I liked this arc alot ,, especially the finale moments

Like commentor above said , those panels of Guts holding Jill , showing his soft side while explaining why she can't come was some of the best I've seen (in this arc)

Jill grew up during this saga .. from getting saved in the forest from those bandits , to (hopefully) standing up to her dad and changing the ways of the village folk

Alright ,, on to the real chunk of the Conviction Arc !!

Guts lives in a battlefield not meant for anyone else. Jill has her own battles and it's great that she garnered the resolve to struggle on in the way she can.

The vivid sky came with the cost of the raging flames decimating the serene misty valley. No more dead kids and one more demon murderer down~

goddamnit MIURA, you tear jerker

dammit

berserk has such a sentimental and rich quality in its life lessons and messages... it gets you thinking and pausing on its panels...

the cloak scene was so father-like of guts, even if he was just a stranger, you know that jill would never forget about him for as long as she lives. it sucks that she only has future domestic problems and possible additional trouble waiting for her when she returns, but jill is way stronger than the person she was only a while ago. there is hope. if she had followed, there's no telling how safe it would be for a child who does not even know how to swing a sword. guts can't protect her 24/7. this is for the best.

guts should be my dad

i'm glad this arc is done, it was pretty good but was obviously a major step down from golden age which was phenomenal and i didn't really care much for the sob story honestly. i know it's necessary to take some time to really show how guts has become just a killing machine after the events of the eclipse but i hope we get to see a lot more stuff in the other conviction arc parts. this arc was good, we got to see how brutal guts has become... now let's move on to bigger things.

That was beautiful. She is going to embark on her own battle and I wish her nothing but the strongest will she can attain to go against it. Also, the blue sky being draped over her was so gorgeous I feel like it's her brand new canvas to start anew her own chapter of retribution. These poor kids. They really do need all the inspiration they can get just so they can live on with a fragment of their sanity.

When Jill wanted to go with Guts, it reminded me of the time when Casca asked Griffith if she could join him.which chapter was that? I forgot...

I absolutely love these two panels, really shows the other side of Guts we never get to see.
