Griffith used them the whole time and now he's using Casca to taunt Guts for "causing" him to sabotage his own dream. The whole thing is extremely unnerving with the betrayal and wrath all around. Poor Guts and Casca :(

I just went on an entire rampage in the Chapter 100 forum because of this exact topic. I'm glad to see others agree.



Berserk needs to tone it down with rape scene after rape scene. It's justified in a lot of places but it's gotten very redundant.



If anything, I KIND of see why Griffith raping Casca is necessary. To cement the fact that he's far-gone and evil. It's kind of important that Casca and Griffith (who always had a positive dynamic) are now in this twisted situation. So I can SEE why the author did it...



And yet, because of the amount of Casca sexualization and rape we've seen in the past, scenes like this are beginning to lose their effect. Especially since right before Griffith started touching Casca, she was raped by a bunch of gigantic tentacle monsters, which is what REALLY pisses me off. Because it's distracting and communicates that A. the author is running out of ideas, B. thinks garbage fanservice like this will somehow contribute to the intricacy of his revered manga, and C. really just likes drawing Casca getting raped. Not for anything plot-related but for the heck of it.

It's ALREADY been communicated that (in the Berserk world), women are viewed as inferior toys. We get it. It's been established. And yet the author just wants to keep reminding us over and over again...



Ultimately, I disagree with people calling this scene bad. I think the chaos and pure evil needs to be conveyed to demonstrate the sheer essence of the Eclipse and how it will effect the surviving characters... and I think Griffith fInGeRiNg around with Casca is also has its place in the chapter, because character development... or something.

But I'm also in full agreement with the Quoted comments. The authors needs to cut back with Casca rape... and if someone HAS to be raped again, don't let it be Casca anymore, because my gosh there's gotta be OTHER ways to utilize her character too.

Or even better, just cut back on the rape for the next one hundred chapters, because for the umpteenth time, it's getting too repetitive...
