All in all, it's a fitting end. They could have ended with Yuuko, but it would have been unfulfilling and people would have wanted more. This way, it's clear there's really no more. There was never a clear plot ending and this shows that.

I don't agree at all.

In fact, the "unexpected" ending makes a big hole where CLAMP can re-take the story or whatever they want.

Just for saying something, their new manga, Gate 7, is about dreams, when dreams become almost the main part of the plot in xxxHolic at the end.

I'm not saying that they will make a continuation, but their stories always mix with other works they have made or will make later.

For example, CLAMP made Tokyo Babylon, which (without spoilers), ends really abruptly. Everyone thought that was the end, but the characters from this work later appear in x/1999, and there the plot is continued in some way, even when they are not the main characters.

This is not an end. This is a cliffhanger!

I never thought that the last page is the last page of the great manga xxxHOLiC. This makes me curious about the outcome of the OVA Rou. I want an epilogue as well. I still have hopes for CLAMP.

Xxx holic was a really great manga. I even regard it higher than Tsubasa. I believe CLAMP should have just ended it when Yuuko died.

100 YEARS OH MY..... UHH DISSAPOINTED CLAMP. YOU'RE GONNA GIVE A CRAP ENDING TO A SERIES WHICH YOU WORKED ON FOR SUCH A LONG TIME. IS THAT WORTH IT?

Rages  aside its still a really great manga. Just forget the Rou part.

I'm extremely disappointed as well. The ending felt so damn rushed, and it saddened me to find out that Doumeki S. was gone already. Damn, CLAMP wtf...

I agree. That was the worst ending of anything I've ever read. Such a great series and i was so excited to keep reading. it was so bad i cried a little.

Wow...just...wow. It feels like Clamp kicked me down and continued to stomp on me. It was hard enough watch Doumeki, Himawari, and Kohane grow up without Watanuki, but to live through three more generations?! And in the end, Watanuki is without Yuuko?

I hope there is an epilogue.

Anyways, I do agree with others that the time-skip occurred in Chap 212. I had remembered upon reading it that Watanuki's line "Well, to me butterflies are special" seemed odd since it was said to Doumeki. Having assumed that Doumeki was still Doumeki, I thought that Doumeki should have known that butterflies were Yuuko's symbol. So, yeah, I guess that Doumeki was not the Doumeki we grew to love.

At first I hated it...but I feel ok with it now, but I still think it's CLAMP's worst ending so far. The OAD may give us something more, hopefully details about what happened those hundreds years before.... hopefully.

They didn't need to end this 100 years into the future...

And the egg STILL wasn't going to be used?
