Naruto Chapter 687 Discussion

This chapter sucked. Here are three reasons why:



1) Obito death is really contrived. He could have used Izangai to survive and have Naruto heal his eye so he could improve the battle. Kakashi even notes that they need him. This makes Obito look like either an idiot or selfish(he just wanted to be with Rin).



2) OMG! Naruto just said that Obito was the coolest guy/nothing but awesome was retarded. He killed Naruto's friends, family, and comrades. He ruined his life. Its one thing to forgive, but saying that phase was pathetic.



3) Rin is into bad boys.



Here are the positives:



1) Obito is finally dead.



2) I love Kaguya for ending this piece of trash.



3) Mystery guy.

That was a damn sad chapter!

What should've happened:

Bz (black zetsu): So you forgive him now? Even after all the terrible things he's done?

Naruto: No. I have by no means forgiven him. But I understand him. i understand what he's been through and why he's walked on the path of darkness. It's not his fault he's ended up this way. He's acknowledged what is right and now he knows the truth!

(Flashback of deva path saying "If you don't share someone's pain, you can never understand them. But just because you understand them doesn't mean you can come to an agreement. That's the truth.")

Bz: Hmm?

Naruto: Obito always wanted to create a world with peace no matter the cost. Even though he has done terrible things, it was all for someone he cared about. Unlike you. The truth is, you're a selfish bastard!

I cried so hard at the end when it showed Obito passed on and met Rin. Those final words from him to Naruto were touching, Naruto better become the damn Hokage!

Lots of lol-moments in the chapter, but whatever, I like the end of Obito, though it took real long to get to it.



Black Zetsu was damn talkative, eh? And seriously, Naruto, why do I keep liking you less as a character as the series goes on?



Edit:

"Let's recharge our chakra."

"Don't waste your chakra."

Well at least chakra is still not limitless.

Except he didn't excuse it, goddamit. He described CURRENT Obito's decision to get his punishment and redeem some of his mistakes, and the dream they shared.



It's as if that one line, implies that Naruto thinks Obito wasn't wrong or is excused for his crimes, it implies quite the opposite actually.



He didn't forgive him complete, he acknowledged the sincerity from Obito.



Well w/e, this was the best chapter ever since BZ derp plot twist.



The funny part of all of this, is that line might have been a mistranslation, it's not the first time it happened, what Naruto said still fits his personality of describing people imo.

I don't see what Sakura could possibly do now, she was useful in the past few chapters because she was acting as a battery for Obito's Kamui (which can now no longer be used due to his Mangekyo disintegrating). Actually, how do they plan on getting out of the dimension without Obito's Mangekyo? Maybe someone will transplant Kaguya's Rinnegan or something.

I also want to point out that Sakura was cute and more beautiful this chapter. Who would've known she was more prettier when she's worried about Naruto.
