Absolutely terrible chapter. This chapter completely ruins Madara as a villain because it makes him nothing but a pawn that was manipulated just like Obito. White zetsus earlier in the series were said to be imperfect clones of the first hokage but now all of a sudden they are related to the Infinite Tsukuyomi. This reveal makes it predictable how the fight will end. Sasuke and Naruto will most likely fuse together and become the sage of the 6 paths the same way Madara and Black Zetsu fused to become Kaguya and he will take her down.

Maybe that is all he was. A pawn, but an incredible one at that.

It was said before that those clones were made from Hashirama cells but who knows if it was a lie. We don't know for certain if it's the truth. Maybe all this time they were somehow related to the infinite tsukuyomi. Maybe in future chapters we get further explanations. The manga is coming to its end, and I don't think Kishi wants his manga to end with plot holes. lol I really hope so. He really needs to fully explain everything in the coming chapters because the reveal made no kind of sense. The white zetsus being imperfect clones of Hashirama made perfect sense considering they are plant like, when Orochimaru took over one of the white zetsus 2nd hokage if I remember correctly could sense that Orochimaru was made up of  the 1st hokage's cells and  Tobi implied that first Hokage cells were used to create the zetsu army considering he showed Kabuto the cultivation of Hashirama's cells which looks like a humanoid version of him connected to the tree. White zetsus being connected to the infinite tsukuyomi to me makes no sense at all.

You're forgetting the fact that Hashirama's power and cells originated from the God-tree. He is a descendent of Hagoromo, who is the son of Kaguya, who in turn ate the Chakra fruit from the Shinju. Furthermore, he is also one of the reincarnations Ashura's will transmigrated to overtime. Added to the fact that the Shinju as well as the Infinite Tsukuyomi are pretty much linked, it makes perfect sense. It's quite obvious that the Zetsu predated both Madara and Hashirama. Obito...or Madara or whoever created them just used a shortcut by taking advantage of Hashirama's mokuton abilities and harvesting them like that. Or else they would have had to wait until they pulled of the genjutsu to use the Zetsu. All in all, it makes perfect sense. All ninjas would have gotten their power from the God tree. If humans can be turned into white zetsus then why didn't Madara turn the ninja alliance (Naruto and Sasuke included)into white zetsus so as to allow the plan to go smoothly without interruption?

Naruto and Sasuke aren't under the Mugen Tsukuyomi, so how would he be able to? Also, something tells me Madara was just winging it when he started things up, but Kaguya actually seems to be proficient in controlling people through the jutsu. I'm talking about before he launched mugen tsukuyomi. Also concerning your previous point about  1st hokage being Ashura's reincarnation. Naruto is also Ashura's reincarnation so why didn't  Tobi ever think about using Naruto's cells to create more zetsus?

One can only turn into Zetsu when they are under the influence of the genjutsu. I thought that much was clear. An even then, it's a gradual process.

Because Naruto doesn't have Mokuton abilities, another thing that should have been obvious. You need the Wood style to create Zetsu, not just any random cells.  The only similarity between the two is that they're both reincarnations of him due to their shared beliefs. Kishimoto will have to explain that because I don't get why humans can only be turned into white zetsus if they are under the mugen tsukuyomi. That's my point that it made sense when it was first stated that zetsus were imperfect clones of Harashima. You need his cells specifically or someone with his cells (Yamato) to create them.

Once you connect all the dots, it's entirely fathomable, for the most part anyway. It all links back to the Juubi tree. Hashirama's abilities are just a variation of the tree, the Zetsus are originally just productions of the tree. Tobi and Madara just took a shortcut by harvesting them through Yamato and Hashirama's cells since it was the closest they could get to the tree. So why does only Hashirama have abilities that are linked to the Juubi tree?

I believe that is a question that can be answered once more is elaborated on the other brother, Hamura. Didn't you ever think it was strange why as the reincarnation of Ashura (who was a loser as a child) Hashirama was still a genius compared to the likes of or even greater than Madara. Indra was a genius and his reincarnation Sasuke was a genius. Ashura was a loser as a kid, and his reincarnation Naruto was a loser as a kid. Similar case with Madara, who was a child genius due to being the reincarnation of Indra.

But Hashirama, he's been a strange case all along. He was a genius as a child as well, unlike his reincarnation Ashura. This must mean that he had a more direct link to the tree, such as the other brother, which may explain the Mokuton. I don't know, it's definitely strange, but like I said, things will become more clearer when Kishi elaborates more on Hamura, which I believe he will.

I remember when this manga used to be somewhat realistic -_-

inb4 Naruto and Sasuke get a powerup to defeat Kaguya

Best part of this chapter was finding out about Zetsu's origin and the cover art, the rest was meh.

I usually defend naruto on many different levels mostly from people that just bitch and complain and insult the author, but this. lol I really don't know what to think of this. Even I a hardened naruto fan has come to a realization that this just has really gotten over the top ridiculous. I bet people were thinking the same thing when akira toriyama transitioned dragon ball into dragon z though. In away its kind of similar.

I am still clinging onto the hope though that orochimaru still has a role to play, i am not buying the fact that he was just resurrected to be an observer and nothing more.

Well at least now we know we are on the absolute final phase of the manga. Cause madara is no more.

"I will continue to raise the tension with out restraint" Yeah yu sure as hell did masashi kishimoto Same here, I'm quite the Narutard but at this point I'm just like "whatever" to literally every chapter.

Sigh... Madara... It actually happened.

Even if he comes back now, he's going to be the "cool guy sidekick" with Obito against Kaguya or something. Damn.

You see, we are all under the presumption that kaguya is going to be a final villain. But what if she is not. LIke everyone else said, its really ridiculous take a character we knew hardly nothing bout and create her as the final enemy of the manga. Now in the context of the story, yeah she is the one behind it all. She is deffintly a bad ass villain. But the way this character was handle in the story, i can't see her replacing madara. Quite possible Madara will return, yet I don't see any problem with giving the final role to a relatively new character. We hardly knew anything about Madara either when he was introduced (both times) as the final villian, and what we know now is more relevant to Sasuke's story than his. Take Star Wars, a story Naruto draws inspiration from. By the end we knew almost nothing of the Emperor and he only appears at the end with preceding quick mentions.

Wut is happening O.o

Why would Kishi make another antagonist, that's even more powerful than Madara O.o Talk no jutsu coming?

You don't like Talk no Jutsu? :(

The obito one is one of my favorite naruto moments :)

Hmm, can it escalate any more?

I don't see a way out of this.

Tbh Madara was not very good to begin with, but they keep replacing villains with even less interesting ones whilst ruining an aldready not very good one.

First, they introduced edo tensei villains, then kyuubi went soft, Tobi went 180 as fast as he went the other way around. And now Madara got popped because nobody knows what to do with him.

Suggestion: introduce a much weaker but smarter villain to set it back to scale. Lose the bijuu. :/ Madara to me was a good villain and deserved to be the final villain because of how much he was built up as a villain. I think the problem is Kishimoto is trying way too hard to have as much twists as possible in this war arc. I agree with your suggestion but the ship has sailed for something like that because this is the last arc. I think Danzo should of had a longer life in the manga and a more prominent role because he is the intelligent type of villain that is weak.

He had a lot of screentime and hype, so I get it, but he was very shallow in my opinion. It was already in bad taste that he came as an Edo, then got nerfed out of his immortality, and even then couldn't kishi think of an exit, so.. We get kaguya. I  actually liked the reveal that Madara was the Edo Tobi was afraid of, I would of never guessed it was him. I was glad he lost his immortality  because that meant that he could be killed, if he had remained immortal the only way to defeat him would of been through talk no jutsu. Kishimoto really disappointed me  by basically axing Madara and having Kaguya take his place as main villain.

as powerful as she is, this is probably going to resolve itself without much fighting.

People kept saying this about madara, and before that about tobi/obito. "talk no jutsu" over and over. Now the same people are crying "Is this fight dragging on?"

Endless streams of bullshit comments in every Naruto chapter is the norm and people still coming back every week to bitch. I guess it's true that haters speak louder.

Kaguya is a much better villain than Madara. More sinister and until further reveal about her background and true intention I'll reserve my judgement. I'm guessing she simply wants to get rid all humans that she perceive as cancer to Earth.

The thing that hit hard in this chapter is the revelation that all those white Zetsus the ninjas were fighting used to be normal people. I thought Madara grew them like fruits -__-

Of course, everyone's entitled to there own opinion, rather negative or positive. But you would have to be out of your mind to quit reading the manga after investing so many years into it. That is why people cling to it, despite what the haters say.

The only people i hate are the ones that come on here and troll it for no reason when they aren't even reading/watching it.
