The way the end went, it makes it look like Mayuri got hit by the hand and Nemu is not happy about that at all (This could mean a janpakuto/shikai/bankai if 'clones/androids' can have one....?)

OR

He is about to get hit and Nemu can see the enormous danger and needs to act/self sacrifice route (pls noooo).



I absolutely LOVE Mayuri but I think it would be better if he died here, rather than Nemu. It would be more impactful if a captain of the Gotei 13 died imo.



EDIT: on page 16 where the arm looks like it's going to hit Mayuri, he says 'this is the Matai Fukuin Shoutai power' which is part of his bankai? So maybe the hand behind him, is actually an alternate form of Ashisogi Jizo born from taking in information on the soul king arm???

i.e., he's not actually in any danger, Nemu is just misinterpreting?

I can actually see Mayuri dying for Nemu.Yeh I know everyone above is talking about Nemu biting it, but I actually see more flags for Mayuri. The guy actually is showing that he cares about Nemu and it's messing with his fight. I think it would be pretty fitting for him to die saving his daughter and against a quincy after all the shit he did to them.

indeed Pernida is quite the handful. and Im sure Pernida still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve. Mayuri is throwing everything he has, but Pernida just keeps giving him the finger.
