You can't restrain and kill Kenpachi with imagination alone, that Quincy is as good dead. That's what I call a plothole.

I remember there were a pair of characters in D.Gray-man who could similarly kill with their unified imagination, yet they couldn't win a single 1v1 fight.

It goes without saying Kenpachi will win this fight, but I atleast want to see him exert some effort first. It's nothing more than pis dude, also despite the large ass panels people just did not manage to see the panel where Gremmy actually had to touch Yachiru in order to turn her bones into cookies, and in this chapter Gremmy says he won't be using his arms against Kenpachi, making it so that he can't warp Kenpachis body because of his pride...

All this hype for the final arc and it's just as mediocre and poorly paced as a regular one.

That's pretty sad :/

I can't understand what to make of this chapter. On one hand, the fight seemed cool. On the other hand, this "villain" is by far the least interesting one that Kubo's come up with... and that's saying something, what with all the shitty villains that Kubo's come up with.

So the guy with the imagination powers is embarrassingly uncreative at best, and utterly stupid at worst. He could have imagined that Kenpachi's blood had turned into lava or that his spine had broken...instead he imagined a cube of water...ok.

And Kenpachi moved Yachiru before confirming the limits on Gremmy's power. What would have happened if Gremmy wasn't distracted enough to stop using his powers on her? lol.

I don't even blame Kubo for this one; his editor needs to be fired for allowing these 3 panels per page filler chapters to happen.

The quincy's power ist as powerful as one would suggest it is.But it seems there is a limit to what he can imagine once at at time. I don't think Kenpachi is going to lose too. What bugs me is that nearly no Quincy has a little background or made himself known and still lives except that flame guy and Haschwald. But if that are the lower class Quincy the Captains will have ther hands full. The fights don't bother me they are of decent quality and since not all charakters could get screen time else I am content with it.

when he could've literally imagine 1000 stakes stabbing kenpachi through the heart or basically billion other things that would've killed him instantly.

LOL, he killed Kensei & Rose in their bed with the mere imagination, he used that 'cookie power' against Yachiru and now with a fk'n strong and crazy Kenpachi he's using a 'cube of water' 'a wood/rock thing' to pair an hit and other pieces of shit like this.. Legit... :-(

We had many nice chapters in this arc of the war but this one is crappy and useless. 2/5.

These battles are so useless. When will authors learn that filler enemies with no anticipation or development are useless to the story?

I once also was led to believe that his power of reality manipulation was driven by the power of suggestion based on the whole cookie thing with yachiru but now that we have a bigger sample size of his powers in use it's simply not true seeing that time and time again we've seen him create change in reality without saying a word to his opponent i.e him becoming steel, the water cube, the fissure, and so on which all happened before he spoke to kenpachi.

Also im lmao at the fact that you guys really think that kensei and rose are dead...im pretty sure that kubo has had characters survive mortal injuries and flat out fake deaths at least 10 times in this manga.

I have no doubt that he can definitely create stuff with just his imagination, but the thing is it's really just his "imagination" coming to life(water, fissure, etc.) and utterly harmless it seems up until others believe it too. I mean Kenpachi literally broke through all of that without a scratch or anything because like I said, he gives no fucks therefore his little imagination gimmick didn't work in that situation. Of course, I really doubt this is just the extent of his powers so we'll probably see something more OP soon.  I think the reason why "turning himself into steel" worked momentarily though was because it was used on himself so he didn't have to worry about getting others to believe it, he only needed to believe it himself. It seems what others believe play a role in it too though as Kenpachi knows Steel is nothing to him so cut him anyway.
