His power is the imagination and in order for it to work 100%, it seems the person he is trying to kill or confuse has to believe it too. Remember Yachiru felt fine up until the guy put it in her head that "what if my bones were cookies", etc.

I don't think he necessarily did anything. The thing is though when Isane saw him near them she immediately thought, "Did he kill them?" and his powers most-likely made that a "reality". The question is what is the extent of his powers, if someone thinks something about another does it turn into a reality permanently or does it only become reality until they no longer believe it or his power wanes. Who knows maybe it's only "their" reality, so perhaps to her they may appear dead, but if someone else checked their pulse they could be alive, but it seems to be leaning more towards the former.

Kenpachi being the crazy fight-loving fighter he is probably wouldn't get a scratch by "1000 stakes" as he'd most likely just think he is invincible to such silly weapons. The whole water thing was an attempt to kill him by putting him into a situation where most people would think, "Shit, I'm trapped underwater" and then the guy tries to feed them ideas in their head that would get them imagining about ways they'd possibly die.



Of course, Kenpachi literally gives no fucks which is what we see at the end of the chapter.

You can't restrain and kill Kenpachi with imagination alone, that Quincy is as good dead, just a matter of time now. Although tbf who ever got Kenpachi would've been f* from the beginning anyways.



Only question is whether or not he'll reveal his Shikai/Bankai or not in this battle. I think it's too early for his Bankai personally.

Lame "power" is lame. People want to see Kenpachi fighting someone with a sword, like I dunno... Nnoitora ?

This fight needs to end. Becoming too repetitive.
