This guy isn't Tensa Zangetsu, he is Juha Bach from a 2000 years ago. Ha ha ha !

He taught ichigo shikai. He synced up with ichigo to defeat kenpachi. He manifested during his bankai training. And again in a younger form while learning final getsuga. "White" however has done nothing but act like how all other inner hollows were said to, trying to take over as the lead consciousness. What makes it even more frustrating is that ichigo's quincy blood was supposed to be completely dormant throughout this story, but yet Old man "zangetsu" was there at the forefront within ichigo's soul since day 1...



Whatever, It's kubo's story and he's free to do what he wants with his characters i guess. He can make Don Kanoji the spirit king in the next chapter if he wanted to and we would all just have to run with it lol.

In the last chapter Nimaiya Oetsu said the hollow inside Ichigo's soul is his zanpakuto. Maybe thanks to his powers of quincy Ichigo succeeded to materialise, his zanpakuto (the hollow) in a shape of sword  like Juha Bach did against Yamamoto. (chapter  510)

Zangetsu didn't teach Ichigo his shikaï, he only said his name and Ichigo invoked it, that's all.

I think it does actually fit into the story. White fused with Ichigo's Shinigami Powers creating one being with the outer form of White. He is the hollow and shinigami part of Ichigo's powers. And he is the real Zangetsu, because part of him ist the original Shinigami power. His Quincy Powers are Old man Zangetsu and  are too a part of his powers, but he can't use them since he doesn't know about them. And since it's an inheritance of the Quincy king himself it can be assumed that it could dominate the hollow and shinigami part. Since it was a part of Ichigo's power the fake Zangetsu would still help him developing his shinigami powers. Maybe the fake Zangetsu even has the will of the 1000 years old Juha Bach and only helped Ichigo for his own purposes. Future chapters will show that. But so far it fits in just fine.



And no one can expect that Kubo plans those things 10 years before. A story can change overtime and future developments can be build around the past story. That's how it works. But it seems some people will always have to complain.

So our main antagonist is right under our nose since the beginning of the story. Didn't expect that :|

I foresee Ichigo getting Aizen's help in near future when they need to face Bach(and soul king afterward, most likely, as we still do not know what led to the whole quincy/shinigami war as there's strong implication that what we know is nothing more but a propaganda by "victors" of the said war, as both sides had their own reasons to do it)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this (At least I _hope_ it will develop this way, if everything is exactly as we've been told this whole time that would be dreadfully boring.)

And Uyruu's insights in Chapter 49 read very differently knowing what we know now.

Kubo's character design look the same for a lot of character. It's like saying Masaki is related to Matsumoto with no other basis than them looking alike.



Masaki is brunette while Matsumoto is busty/big boobs with blonde hair so huge difference there

His point still stands, though.

Zangetsu is Ichigo's quincy power, and hollow Ichigo is his actual Zanpakto, so that means Ichigo was never a shinigami yet. With the new sword, he will have a new form coming and a different Banki.
